St. Johns Coastal Counseling Association was founded by school counselors, to be a local chapter of the Florida School Counselor Association (FSCA).  SCCA aligns with the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) National Model as well as championing the following objectives:

The objectives of this association shall be:

A. To promote and improve professional standards and advocacy in the field of school counseling services.

B. To enhance effective, ethical and appropriate school counseling services.

​

C. To unite professionals who are actively involved and/or individuals who are interested in various aspects of school counseling services.

​

D. To make available professional development opportunities.

​

E.  To provide an opportunity for discourse concerning school counseling issues and to    research, review, reflect, and present a collective response.

F.  To publicize information and focus attention on legislation affecting the ability to provide appropriate school counseling services.
